Comprehension Strategies
(This course comprises three 3 hour sessions)

Our Comprehension Strategies training course is designed to give teachers a more in-depth understanding of the specific skills involved in understanding a text, and equip them with practical ideas for teaching these skills. Teachers are shown how to develop and use interesting and hands-on materials and activities for practising specific aspects of reading comprehension such as prediction skills, inference skills and synthesis of ideas. These are carefully scaffolded ideas that have been tried and tested with young learners, and that will help them overcome their fear or dislike of reading comprehension.
