I was born in Southern Ireland, where those wonderfully mystical leprechauns still live, trust me! It's also the only place on earth where you can find the finest hospitality on offer.
I moved to Singapore over 12 years ago with my family and have held PR status for the past eight years. We regard Singapore as home from home and are considered by our Singaporean friends affectionately as Sing Mohs! No longer Ang Moh's which is indeed a great compliment - knowing we are accepted and made so very welcome in this great city.
Having gained early approval from the Ministry of Education to teach within the Singapore Schools system, I have first hand knowledge of the structure in place and have taught in numerous schools both Secondary & Primary island wide, far too many to mention here. I am also a graduate of The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in London and have gained gold and honors with distinctions in related exams. I have also done voice over work which, I really enjoy; some of my clients in Singapore include BBC Entertainment, Singapore Tourism Board, Caldecott Productions International, Frasers Hospitality (Hospitality arm of Singapore's listed Fraser & Neave Ltd). Speech & Drama is my passion and I infuse that enthusiasm and the need for good communication skills to all my students, through our Speech & Drama programmes here at Lorna Whiston Speech & Drama Centre.
What do I like? Well a few of my favourite things would have to include a great Sunday roast dinner, Indian food, local coffee and an ever ending supply of Hello magazines! I must also mention my favorite local T.V. programmes Phua Chu Kang & Rosie. In my free time I like to go to the theatre, watch reality T.V. and generally have a good night out where we can enjoy some of the best medicine around - laughter. My dislikes are thunder and lightning storms and most recently, the sea, since my husband Steve and I are survivors from the 2004 Tsunami - an unforgettable experience.
I am more than thrilled to be a part of the team spirit at Lorna Whiston where our work is fun and seeing the end result of that work in our students, is even more rewarding!
