Student Support and Counselling Programmes

Students attending our General English Programmes and School Preparatory Programme will be coming to Singapore for extended periods of study. Sometimes such students may experience difficulty in adapting to their new environment, and may experience homesickness or other problems of adaptability.

Having had 27 years experience in working with Asian students we are well-equipped to support students who find themselves in this situation and offer student guidance and counseling as part of our services. Lorna Whiston EAL School provides guidance and support to students on issues of course selection. Students are encouraged to meet with the student study counsellor Mr. Scott Dooley to discuss course options and study opportunities and the counsellor will guide them in their choice of course to ensure that a suitable study path is chosen.

Furthermore we periodically organize social events for our full time students to help integrate more effectively into the school community and adapt more easily to Singapore.

Students who experience personal difficulties settling in Singapore are encouraged to speak to our appointed counsellors, Mr. Scott Dooley, Ms. Louise Bidenko and Mrs. Meng Fang for students from the People’s Republic of China. Please approach our Customer Relations Representatives to help you fix an appointment with them. All discussions with our Counsellors are kept strictly confidential.
